Cryotherapy is a highly effective treatment for a wide variety of benign (non-cancerous) skin problems but is no longer available on the NHS.

Extreme cold (liquid nitrogen) is used to destroy the abnormal tissue, quickly and with minimal risk of scarring or infection. The treatment lasts a matter of seconds; the precise time depends on the thickness and size of the lesion being treated.

Depending on the nature of the lesion, more than one treatment 6 weeks later may be necessary.
